ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY

All athletes must comply with the provisions of the Olympic Charter currently in force, including but not limited to Rule 41 (Nationality of Competitors). Only those athletes who have complied with the Olympic Charter may participate in the GAISF World Urban Games.

Age

To be eligible to participate in the 2019 World Urban Games, B-Girls and B-Boys must be born on or before 31 December 2003.

WDSF World Breaking Championships

The twelve (12) best ranked athletes per gender in the WDSF World Breaking Championships (Nanjing, China / 22-23 June 2019) will be allocated one (1) quota place respecting the maximum quota per gender per country (see under section B.) and will be eligible for participation in the GAISF World Urban Games (WUG), in Budapest from 13 to 15 September 2019.

In the case several athletes from the same country are eligible to participate in the WUG, the best ranked one (1) will be offered the possibility to compete in the WUG. For 4 countries (USA, JAP, RUS, FRA), the best two (2) will be offered the possibility to compete in the WUG until twelve (12) eligible athletes receive a quota place for the WUG.

In the case one (or several) athlete being eligible for the 2019 WUG is (are) not interested in participating in the WUG, WDSF will contact the next athlete(s) on the ranking of the WDSF World Breaking Championships in Nanjing until the total number of WUG quota places is completed.

WUG Host Country place

The host country of the 2019 World Urban Games (Hungary) will automatically qualify one (1) male and one (1) female athlete on the condition that the athletes have participated in the WDSF World Breaking Championships, in Nanjing, China (June 2019).

Outbreak Europe

The three (3) best ranked athletes per gender, from countries not already represented further to the WDSF World Breaking Championships, at the Outbreak Europe (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia / 25-28 July 2019) will be allocated one (1) quota place respecting the maximum quota per gender per country (see under section B.) and will be eligible for participation in the GAISF World Urban Games (WUG), in Budapest from 13 to 15 September 2019. In the case where an eligible athlete is not interested in participating in the WUG, his/her place will be allocated to the next eligible athlete on the Outbreak Europe ranking. In case that some quota places are not accepted by athletes, these places will be will be redistributed to the next athlete on the ranking of the WDSF World Breaking Championships in Nanjing.

Continental representation – Principle of Universality

With a quota system of 16 athletes per gender, WDSF will ensure the principle of Universality in entering participants, in the World Urban Games, from at least 3 continents.

In the case this principle is not fulfilled, WDSF will allocate one (1) quota place per gender to the best-ranked athlete from the best non-represented continent in the WDSF World Breaking Championship to take place in Nanjing, China, in June 2019.

HOST COUNTRY PLACES

The host country will automatically qualify one (1) man and one (1) woman on the condition that these athletes have participated in the WDSF World Breaking Championships, in Nanjing, China (June 2019).

In the case no athlete from the host country has participated in the WDSF World Breaking Championships, the place(s) will be redistributed to the next athlete on the ranking of the WDSF World Breaking Championships in Nanjing.

CONFIRMATION PROCESS FOR QUOTA PLACES

CONFIRMATION OF QUALIFICATION PLACES

WDSF will publish the results of the World Championships by 1st July 2019 on its website.

WDSF will publish the list of qualified athletes, for the World Urban Games in Budapest, by 2nd August 2019 on its website.

Qualified athletes (from the list published on the WDSF website) will have until 7th August 2019 to confirm their participation in the 2019 World Urban Games in Budapest.

If a quota place allocated is not confirmed by the athlete within the confirmation of quota place deadline (7th August 2019), the said quota place will be reallocated to the next best ranked athlete (and not yet qualified) at the WDSF World Breaking Championships whilst respecting the maximum quota per country and the principle of Universality.
