Let's Dance! In Tokyo 2020! 07/11/2017

Hurray! Hurray! 2020 Remember DanceSport's Tokyo 2020 campaign video? "You just don't leave anything to chance ...," is the first line spoken. But in the end it is a lucky coincidence which secures Pedro Toro's video an award in Japan: Hurray!

The "Hurray! Hurray! Video Contest" was commissioned by the Cabinet Secretariat Headquarters of Japan for the Promotion of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"What are you striving towards these days? Is it music, dance, sports, art, a traditional cultural pursuit? We're looking for videos about activities that you're getting excited about as we get closer to 2020."

This is the brief description of what the nationwide video contest is all about. "Music, dance, sports ...," it all sounds familiar, no? Acting on the advice of Atsushi Yamada, the CEO of the Japan DanceSport Federation, WDSF decided to submit the video which it had produced for the campaign to get DanceSport into the 2020 Olympics. Changing the final sequence from an ambitious "Let's be in the Olympics!" to a more general "Let's dance in Tokyo 2020!" gives the video the different perspective, one in line with the contest rules.

Yesterday WDSF received the notification: "Your video won the Excellence Award in the Creative Video category." The award will be presented on 15 December in Tokyo!
